Xero Integration Validation

Modified on Fri, 05 Aug 2022 at 03:25 PM

Occasionally an update to the Xero Integration may cause an error when validating Journals.  If you suddenly get an error on validation that looks like one of the red images below, or says "forbidden - authentication unsuccesssful"  you may need to update the integration settings.

To test if you need to update the integration settings, navigate to Configuration/Financials/Chart of Accounts/GL Code and see if you can retrieve categories from Xero.

  • If categories are retrieved, the error is not one of integration and you should contact support@miclub.com.au to investigate further.
  • If you cannot retrieve categories, your integration can be updated using the Quick or Step by Step Guide process below. This process will remove errors from your validation.

Quick Guide:

1. Navigate to Configuration/Integration/Integration Settings

2. Select General Ledger

3. Scroll down to the User Settings and select the action button to edit the following 3 areas:
    (general.edger,xero.access.token, general.ledger,xero.refresh.token, general.ledger,xero,tenant.id)

4. Highlight all information in the Value: field and delete the value and save.

5. Refresh the browser screen

6. Click the Authorise Xero button, under General Ledger at the top of the screen

7. Log into Xero

8. This will create a new button (Find Tenant), select it and check the name

9. Select the Set as Tenant ID button

Step by Step Guide:

1.  Go to Configuration and under Integration select Integration Settings

2.  Select General Ledger

3. Open the User Settings tab at the top of the page,  select the action button for the following 3 items then select Edit.

4. Highlight (or double click) all information in the Value: field and delete using your keyboard delete key. Save
