Image Resizing

Communications and send message in MiMembership was not designed to be used as or to replace an EDM or Enews system, rather to send short messages to members that relate to their membership or financial status.

If you wish to send a message from MiMembership that includes an image, you should always ensure that the image you are using is no bigger than about 50KB.

The following is to help you ascertain the size of the images and how to resize them to suit if necessary.

Ascertaining the current size of the image you wish to use

Open the file explorer on your computer and navigate to the folder the image is in.   Ensure you are looking at the detailed view.  Using this shows the file size.

As you can see, these files which were photos taken on a phone are much too large..

Making your file size smaller

There are many options of software to edit images available, both free and paid.  If you do not want to install software on your computer, you can use an online image editing software available here:  https://pixlr.com/

There is comprehensive help available for this software online, but following is a quick guide to editing your image:

Open the image in question

Once selected, a dialog box will open asking you to pre-resize the image.  The maximum width an image should be to be full width in an email is 650 pixels, apply that to the image in the "new size" box and hit the apply button

from there you can save the image  using the blue button in the lower right hand corner.  It will show you the size of the image prior to saving.

Once you hit the save as button, you will be given the option to rename the image so as not to replace the originall.
